365+ Movies In 365 Days: Day 322 -My Wild Irish Rose

Fictional bio-pic of early twentieth century Irish crooner Chancellor Olcott. Dennis Morgan stars and sings his way into your heart with some beautiful tunes. Standard "B" picture film churned out by Warner Brothers in the 1940's. Not seen very much anymore because of the extensive use of black face in the minstrel show scenes. Fun in spots but way too long. Available as a made to order DVD from Warner Archives or look for it on TCM around St. Paddy's Day. Only for die hard fans.

I recently watched two movies that oyu reviewed...Wall St 2 (you gave 2.5) and Unstoppable (3)...aS FOPR wALL sT 2, this movie was absolutely horrenodus...the plot was both foolish and confusing, douglas slept walked through it...and the two young people were total asses...who was that girl, i haven't been so annoyed by an actress since julia roberts and what did thta fool see in her...1 star...Unstoppable...i heard good things about this movie...i was hopint to see runaway Train (the best movie ever in thyis genre and should have earned Voight an award)...instead I got an idikotic poorly edited piece of schlock..so the two jerks unleash a train but they're hanging out not acting very worried when they see the boss lady and say, a train got awayu...she basically says, what a way to start a day and proceeds with an amaterish display of anxiety...of course the big bad corporation is trying to think of a way to save their stock price...I mean it was dumb...then the editing...the train is traveling, supposedly at ever increasing speeds, but, whenever it is going to hit something or at an imp[ortant juncture it is obviously goping about 20 mpg...what was with the annoying helicopters basically flying inches above the ground then not being in the picture at all...oh yeah, is a train disaster coming to oyur town...bes tthing to do is line up every cop and emergency vehicle and all the townsfolk right along the tracks...by the way, don't lower the traffic gates until the precise moment the train ius actually passing through the crossing...suspense???...not for one second was I unable to figute what was oging to happen....Dump this movie, grab Voights movie and have the time of your life...Unstopable gets 2 stars because i will admit, a teenager would probably like it

Dear Anonymous,
Your insane babbling about stars is beginning to seem strange. Stars are meaningless. Did i enjoy the movie Unstoppable? Yes I did. Would I tell others to see it? Yes I would, depending on who they were and the type of entertainment they were looking for.

Did I enjoy Wall Street 2? Mostly, enough to suggest that those fans of the first film and the curious give it a try. I was not annoyed by Carey Mulligan, nor am I annoyed by Julia Roberts.

I was not confused by the plot of Wall Street 2.
I also followed the plot of Unstoppable very well and understood at the beginning of the events the train workers believed they had a runaway train with all safety checks in place so it would be a simple task to catch and stop the train.

I do not understand why you were hoping to see another version of Runaway Train when you sat down to watch Unstoppable. Seems odd that you would set yourself up for such disappointing expectations.
Seems you sat down expecting greatness and were disappointed while I sat down expecting schlock and was pleasantly surprised to see good schlock.

As always we at the Movie House appreciate your feedback but we do recommend that you get your blood pressure checked as well as your spelling.
